Approach

How we work.

Our method is simple to describe and demanding to do well. Most of the value is in the doing.

01

Listen

We start with the decision you are actually facing, not the one that is easiest to scope. The first conversation is about understanding the problem, not selling a solution.

02

Evidence

We gather what is knowable and are honest about what is not. We read the documents, speak to the people who know, and test the numbers ourselves rather than taking them on trust.

03

Judgement

Evidence informs a view; it does not replace one. We form a position, weigh hard what could prove it wrong, and tell you plainly where we land and how confident we are.

04

Counsel

We give advice you can act on, with the reasoning set out beside it, so the decision remains yours and you can defend it long after we have gone.

05

Discretion

Throughout, we work quietly and protect what is told to us in confidence. The best advisory work rarely leaves a trace.

Engagement

Senior-led and tightly scoped.

Engagements are run by the people who win them. We keep teams deliberately small, which keeps us close to the work and accountable for it.

We prefer to begin with a defined question and a short horizon. It lets a client judge us on results rather than promises, and it lets us be sure we are the right firm before either side commits further.

Fees are agreed in advance and matched to the work. We would rather decline an engagement than stretch to take it.

What to expect

Plain language, held in confidence.

You can expect direct answers, written clearly, with the uncertainty left in rather than smoothed over. You can expect senior attention from the first meeting to the last. And you can expect that what passes between us stays between us.

Contact

Put a question to us.

The first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. It is simply how we both find out whether there is a fit.
